My son is 16 and been called for assessment with ATOS for PIP . Has anyone under 18 had any experience of this / what is asked ?
Hi Cariow1
I'd like to wish you and your son lots of luck for his PIP Assessment. I hope you get the result you need but if you don't can I suggest you take all your papers to your local Citizen's Advice Bureau who will be able to help you. I hope you've had their help for this.X
I do know that the DWP has said this group of people (16-18) are known to need particular care in assessment, and supposedly the assessors have been trained to take more time and listen more carefully with them, and not make assumptions. Are you going with him? I would recommend you do, or someone who knows him well - they will be able to add useful comments. Check out the points system at gov.uk/government/uploads/s... and see where he scores points, and make sure your son is given time to explain how and where he meets the points he needs. Good luck.
Brilliant link kulie..well worth a read before he goes Cariow.....
