Steroid Infusions - Helpful?

Hi, My wife has a number of auto-immune problems (colitis/crones, thyroid, arthritis, graves, etc), although not diagnosed as lupus. She's having a steroid infusion today to help sort a bad flare up she's been having in her hands. Has anyone had any experience with this treatment before? Did it help significantly? Thanks.

Yes I have - frequently and if the docs say they are doing it again I almost look forward to it as I know how much better I feel for it. I know that may sound strange that I look forward to being given medical treatment makes me sound a bit odd even but what I look forward to is the positive out come of the treatment. I know that my symptoms will be better for a period afterwards and I will feel pretty good for a while. I hope that your wife has the same positive result as I do especially as it is coming up to Christmas so that she can enjoy the festive season and some quality time with friends and family with less suffering. The one thing I would point out however is that it did increase my appetite each time I had treatment maybe this was just because I take oral steroids too but if she gets the same try to be strong and resist too much of all those yummy christmas foods or the extra weight won't help her too much after going through treatment.
