Hi there

Your ESR is an inflammatory marker. It's not a very specific marker, but a rise in ESR can indicate an increase in disease activity. It depends on how high and what is normal for you.

My ESR normally sits at twice the normal reference range, so quite high, without causing any concern. When mine gets in to the 60's to 90's that's normally coinciding with a flare.

Hi

My ESR is usually higher than normal. I have been told that its an inflammatory marker and not to worry. It just means that there is slight lupus activity - they dont worry about it unless it is exceptionally high. I have had slightly higher than normal esr for over 6 months and im doing ok. try not to worry

Mine has been 60 to 70 for a couple years. I has been up to 120 -130 on occasion. They tell me Sed rate indicates inflammation. No meds other than Naproxen 500 X 2 daily.

ESR is also known as your SED rate. It is a measurement of inflammation in the body. If it is above 20, it is elevated, which could indicate infection of some kind.
