What is your question? ALT is raised when kidneys are not functioning well I think. Low ESR means no inflammation. But not sure what you are wanting to know. Do you have lupus?

Maybe I'm wrong but is ALT related to the liver?

Not sure what it is you're asking here, but ESR shows no inflammation, it is a general indicator of inflammation, it is non-specific and does not pinpoint where the inflammation is. Must people with Lupus would have a raised or high ESR.

ALT relates to the liver enzymes, levels can be increased due to medication (for example: when taking immuno-suppressants). SGOT is another liver enzymes test and measures the amount of enzymes released into the blood stream, it would seem that if both your ALT and SGOT (or also known as AST) there may be some concern over the liver, however do not panic as the liver is a regenerating organ and is capable of repairing itself overtime.

CPK relates to muscle injury or damage including the heart or or brain, levels can be raised due to certain medications such as statins taken for blood pressure.

RF refers to the rheumatoid factor to determine whether a person has rheumatoid arthritis, or lupus (e.g.), as yours is normal there is no concern there.

I think if you are concerned you should probably be discussing with your GP and they are likely to want to follow up the liver test results.

All the best and keep us informed.

CPK causes nasty muscle cramps aches and fatigue. Can be linked to Statins or abnormal muscle metabolism. When you say high, what are the numbers. Co Enzyme Q10 might help, but check which your doc if you are already taking hydroxychloroquine.

Are any of those curable?

Dear All;

Thank you all for taking the time to discuss my case.I didn't really think any one cared that's why i was so brief. The whole story is like this in short.About 15 month a go i came down with flue like symptoms .Muscle ache, mild rash on the forehead, mild fever etc.All the symptoms got worse and i even had disphagia and was hospitalized in the ICU.I lost half my weight in four month and was completely paralyzed . The only parts i could move was my wrist and foot.The doctors said its polymyositis. They started the prednisolone at 100mg/day and to cut the story short after all this time i have gained weight,and started eating and drinking by mouth and have gained most of my movements. How ever i am still on the wheel chair and cant walk .Actually if i come to a standing position i can walk using aid,but cant come to the standing position by my self.I have done lots of research and actually made the first diagnosis of my illness my self .What is confusing me is the lab test resualts. My last test done lately states:

AST 72 U/L,ALT 116 U/L,LDH 610 IU/L,CPK 1650 U/L,ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE 120,CKMB 50 U/L,C-REACTIVE PROTEIN NEGATIVE ,R.F(LATEX) NEGATIVE. ANA(CL) 0.2 U/ML,anti-DNA(CL) 0.3,ANTI HCV(CL) NEGATIVE.

Esr 1HR 8 mm/hr.

My medication is 15mg prednisolone /day and 150 mg immuron/day.

My Question is;

If i have auto an auto Immune problem how come my immunology and sedimentation results are normal? And if there is no muscle destruction where is the high CPK level coming from?

Can someone respond to this?

I have a similiar issue, but no where near that extreme.

My CPK was about 1000. I was able to bring it down to a 800 after taking natural medical treatments in about 3 months. Treatment is still continuing on.

I get aches in muscles from time to time, fatigue, and shortness of breath. Regular doctors dont seem to know how to cure this, thats why I took the natural health centre route. I am on homeopathic medicines for various areas of the body, muscle calm etc
