hi can anyone tell me how much more money I would have to pay to amend my insurance ie include lupus. only have a standard plan. how much would a new one cost on lupus insurance company.

I took out my life insurance before I was diagnosed with lupus. I did contact my insurers to make sure I was covered (just incase) and I am. over the years we have been offered insurance updates and my hubbys has been updated according to our situation but mine hasn't been touched because of my lupus. they said it best left as it stands. I will read other peoples answers tho as im curious too. sorry ive not been helpful tho huny x

thanks. don't think im covered as it is at the moment like paula looked round got nowhere as soon as I said lupus.

I don't know but hang on to it, as I cannot get life insurance now!!

Hi Tracy

It's difficult to say without knowing what type of policy you have, but life insurance is long term insurance, so is based upon your health (the answers you give to the questions on the application form) at the time you apply for the policy, and it goes on risk.

Thereafter, so long as you keep paying your premiums, if your health gets better or worse, this makes no difference to your policy.

If you are in any doubt you can contact the policy provider to check this.

The other option is to get advice from a financial adviser. I'm sure Lupus UK have details of providers who deal with people with lupus who can place cover with companies. But I'd say keep paying those premiums until you know what's what.

i typed in life insurance for lupus and there are life insurance companies that will give you a quote so its not impossible
