Does anyone get numb lips?
Hi Joanne I do get this sometimes but I'm also diabetic and when it does happen it is usually after I've had a hypo so I've thought it was related to that.
When it happens it can last 30 minutes (it starts after I've correct my blood sugars).
Sorry if this doesn't help.
Louise
Thanks Louise. It's so horrible. Mine comes and goes. They look pale too. Have raynauds so they usually go blue and tingly when I'm cold but this numbness is new.
Joanne, yes I do get numb lips, usually occurs with me, when I am overtired and in a flare. Raynauds connection is a reasonable assumption, but any new symptoms I would definitely advise you get this checked out by your medical team, with Lupus's ability to mimic other conditions, I always make my team aware of new issues.
Am in a flare now, first one in a while and since being on plaquinal so I think the numb lips was a warning sign for it coming, new things happening with every flare. Feeling very disappointed, thought the plaquinal was working. Came down to 5mg pred last Monday and been on a down ward slope since then. Waiting for a call back from the hospital. Thank you
Oh! I get numb lips. I usually see it as a start of a migraine, but then that was before I tested positive for lupus, which I am now wondering if they were a sign of the illness that resulted in a stroke aged 31?
My GP has prescribed me a new drug to kill the start of a migraine called zolmitriptan which removes the numb lips and sight disturbances. I also appear to have reynaulds.
