Dawnie - you have reminded me that I need to inform my Insurance Company that I am recently been diagnosed with this. However, I have had my Insurance for near 14yrs and I was diagnosed 3 yrs into this with Sjogren's Syndrome - at that time it did not affect my policy. I will keep you updated on how i get on!

Hi Dawn,

you might like to contact David Rackham on 01329 282882 or email david.rackham@templewealth.co.uk

David has been successful in obtaining life insurance for other LUPUS UK members, so he may be able to help.

If you contact Lupus UK they will be able to get you a list of those who will provide life insurance for Lupus sufferers.

Now that I am over 50 (oh no!!) I have taken no questions asked policies, prices vary according to what you want. They are advertised in magazines,TV guides etc.

Unfortunately I have come to the conclusion that the insurance companies make the monthly payments ridiculously high or will exclude the SLE from the policy and then if you die will probably not pay out as SLE can affect you in so many ways they will say, whatever the cause of death, that it was SLE. So I have decided to not have life insurance, why struggle to pay for something that will probably never be honoured? Sorry to be so jaded in my opinion of insurance companies.
