I bought a few wigs - average price £25-£30.

I only wear them when I go out but it really does help my confidence.

Hi Tracy

There is a blog on this site that I started regarding 'hairloss'.

I have lost lots of hair and I know how you must be feeling.

Why not see if you can find the blog.

I have a volumiser fitted and it is just wonderful. It is just like my own hair as the hair that I have left is woven through it and I wash and style it just like my own.

It is better than a wig as you can get rather hot in a wig at times and it can be a bit itchy!

However, you will find a way to get what suits you personally I am sure.

If you can't find the blog please get back to me and I will send more info if you want it.

My advice is to get the best quality wig or peice that you can afford so that it looks as natural/comfortable as possible.

Have a lovely day.

I have a extensive wig collection from synthetic to human hair. Human hair wigs costing slightly more. I recently bought a Human lace wig costing £195, but this looks the most natural as it looks like it is growing from your scalp.

Wigs can be cheap or costly, just depends on your personal budget.

Lots of websites to go to, lots of styles, lots of prices depending on whether you want real hair or nylon hair! The synthetic wigs will last you an average of 3 months looked after correctly, (always get and follow wig care instructions) then they're past their best. When i lost a lot of my hair i turned to Trendco for wig supplies. Always try on in a salon as some wigs look really rediculous on, the aim is to find something that fits well, that the colour suits you as does the style, then you can have fun! I would say that looking at costs and with hindsight, always a wonderful thing, i would recommend buying a natural hair wig, i could have saved a fortune doing this!

I didn't realise that Lupus could cause hair loss, i didn't put mine down to Lupus. I lost a grandson a few days before he was due to be born and then lost a few tiny patches of hair. This happened on each anniversary of his death until Sept 2010 when my hair decided to depart from my head big style! By December it was a clipper off grade 1 jobby and a whole selection of wigs for cover. By Feb 2011 all my bald patches had filled in so i stopped clippering my hair off and started to grow. I now have a lovely thick head full of healthy hair about 5 1/2 inches in length, longer than my previous short and funky styles! My hair is not 'coming out' until August when i should have reached bob length. Having worn feminine length wigs for ages i can't possibly 'come out' with anything less so i'll carry on with the wigs for awhile longer.

Have fun buying your wigs and remember to follow care instructions VERY carefully if you don't want to ruin your wigs!

P.S. You dont pay VAT on wigs if you have hair loss, make sure you're not being charged or ripped off in any other way by doing your homework on wig prices!

hi there,

I have been wearing wigs and units for longtime. It all depends on the style n the type of hair you want. I have gotten some as low as $25 and paid all the way up to $1300 for hair.
