I just walked (ok stumbled) my well fed...grumpy, content and if I'm honest pain in the arse Boxer dog past some street drinkers with a pitiful skinny BUT content??? mongrel dog back into my nice warm flat !!!! Pain and suffering is relative.....

I was going to post a similar comment. I have a 10 month old dog - Hudson who is such a wonderful distraction. I have to walk her and that makes me mobile and as soon as I get to my nearby common I feel a total sense of relaxation which is so therapeutic. I know I am luckier than most to be this mobile but I know when I just lay in bed it didn't do me any good. Everyone is different but exercise/mobility/distraction is good. Sometimes I think I can't go out but once I do and chat to friends I forget about a lot of ailments.

You are so right, sometimes I get told don't go out or don't do that but I have to to keep my sanity and feel I am still part of the world. I know things cause you pain but I just feel sometimes it is worth it like playing with my granddaughter. I can rest the next day and take painkillers. So we need to feel good about ourselves even if our bodies say otherwise and what ever that is then do it. Good luck to you

Fantastic post, I feel the same, I am very lucky to have a nice home, relatively good children and a husband (though sometimes that's in debate..lol). but seriously I get a tiny bit tired of reading,,, woe is me, I work within mental health and understand how down people get and depression is a serious illness, some of the people I treat are really ill – I understand how this happens and how people become low and how this feels, but also know that the more you do (within your limits) the better you feel, but it's good to go to your limits...

Well done you...

Thank you all for you're comments! I try to concentrate on the good days rather than dwell on the bad ones!!!! Like you Jax being a doggy owner you have to go out even when you dont much feel like it but when you do it does you the world of good!!! Cant beat animal therapy lol xx Ginny I love your attitude too....play today and worry about it tomorrow xx Nickle yours is my favourite..... (esp the debatable husband part lol )ok we all feel sorry for ourselves from time to time but like you I find woe is me people draining..... I know its a cliche BUT there is always someone worse off than yourself xxx
