Hi Larrissa

I live near Guildford but like you found local rheumy ( several years ago now) pretty awful, actually told me all tests were normal, found out several years later that my Anti DNA double stranding was very positive at that time ! Was able to see Professor Hughes himself in 2004 he confirmed that l had SLE and other bits for many years.

Sadly Prof Hughes retired from the NHS, but now l see a Dr Chris Edwards at Southampton he is a lovely man , very easy to talk to, and he listens , l mean really listens to his patients, in fact his whole team are really good backed up by Sally the lupus nurse specialist.

Hope you find someone soon. xx

Hi Larissa

I have a fantastic rheumy at Brighton hospital, Professor Davies. He is kind, listens to you and he has done numerous tests on me which has resulted in answers to some of the questions I have. Now I am on the correct medication and have not felt better in years. There are still bad days and pain but it is all at a tolerable level. I was referred to him by my dermatologist as I also have Discoid lupus.

I have seen other Rheumies but Professor Davies is by far the best, he is also very interested in Lupus. All I can say is Thank God I am now under his care. Good Luck and I hope you get to see him.

Hi Larissa

I agree with Carrie67 Prof Davies is an expert in Lupus, I think the majority of people in our support group see him and are happy with him. I think he is very good indeed he's very thorough and since I've seen him he's picked up quite a few things in my blood tests! I'd certainly recommend him.
