Lupus and adult ADD
Do you think there is a link between SLE and ADD? Would you like to say more?
I was diagnosed with ADD in about 2008 and have since benefited from stimulant medications. I was diagnosed with lupus in Oct 2014 and began plaequi (sp) . I took a break from my ADD medication until the lupus med's met their full effect. My concentration, memory, and mental functioning was terrible while I was not taking the ADD med's. During a terrible flare up I decided to begin my ADD med again and it was a significant improvement, and made the flare much easier to cope with. I have mentioned how much it helps my cognition a few times to different people including one of my Doc's. So far I have not had anyone response to this as if it could truly be helpful for lupus fog. I have researched much on lupus fog, medications used for lupus symptoms, etc. and I have not found any information about possibly using add med's for periods of lupus fog. Just wondering if it could help lupus patients who suffer from this difficult symptom, even if they do not have an ADD diagnosis.
I am not a medical doctor and therefore cannot make any comments other than my own view. Taking any kind of stimulant has to be taken by a physician according to the symptoms and diagnosis.
Stimulants should not be given ad hoc just for "brain fog" since this cognitive problem is the result of lupus.
Stimulants can be harmful.

You suffer from two unconnected conditions which I can appreciate is very difficult for you.
