Hi all, Just want to update about my nephew, Mike. Unfortunately, he is in stage 4, colon cancer. They removed 3 feet of his colon, but did not get all of it. In a week and 1/2 the doctor is sending him to a Boston hospital to meet with a specialist in this particular cancer, starts chemo next week. Then to another doctor in New Hampshire. My sister and brother in law were with Mike when they told them it doesn't look good. He is only in his 40's, lost a teenage son some years back and was finally getting to where he wanted to be in his life. Dam, "sorry", cancer sure doesn't discriminate.. Please say an extra prayer for my nephew, he needs all he can get.

Thanks for being here to vent too.

Oh, a little side note, had an accident today, whole front fender off. Someone made the mistake of saying to the officer that I am on chemo and am very disoriented , and nervous. So,,,,,,, now Motor Vehicle will hear this and probably pull my license! To be fair, I should have stopped driving till I feel better, but who knows when or if I'll ever feel better.

Oh joy, what a beautiful day!!!

Hello Gibdonnalee,

Sorry to hear all the bad news. But get a second opinion for your nephew. I also say that we should not just take one and one doctor's opinion. I hear there is good care in your area of the country. Get other input.

But keep your head up, much prayers to you and your nephew.

I'm so sorry about your nephew. You are right, cancer does not discriminate. It is a nasty, sneaky disease. Often it takes every ounce of strength and courage we have to battle it. I pray your nephew finds the treatment he needs. Also, sorry about your accident. Sometimes we don't know how bad we feel until we look back when feeling better. Take care of yourself and keep up the good fight.

You are so right - it is one thing after another for you and yours...I should have said that...it was what I intended, but we all know that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions...so I need to keep that in front of me! I really am sincerely sorry about all the hardship you and your family face right now. Please take care.

Good morning gibdonnalee,

I read your posting with great empathy and concern. Prayers going out to your nephew and you. He is a warrior in his fight to get well!! Your support is a blessing to him I'm sure.

The person who stated you are on chemo, disoriented and nervous was only trying to help you. I would call your local branch of the DMV and see if there is anything that may have recently been put into your driving record - doubtful!! You may have to go there and request a copy of your driving record. There may be a small fee.

I wish you a lovely day. May God bless you and your nephew. Take care and many prayers for you both!!

Sorry things are so rough right now . I know exactly how you must feel, I get overwhelmed sometimes when it seems like all things hit at once. I sincerely hope things start looking up for you.

Prayers and healing,

Well, things seem to be going downhill for nephew, Mike, oncologist called and he needs more surgery. They have to open him up again , since they didn't get all the cancer last time. I don't understand something, tell me if any of you have please. When he is "open" they will inject a "liquid " then, " shake" him if this doesn't help they are saying they can't do anything more to help him

What the heck is this kind of talk!! Maybe just something I never heard about? And what does " shake him" mean? I'm getting this second hand from his mom, my sister-in-law. Maybe someone got the info confused .
