I was diagnosed June 26, 2015 with Stage IV lung cancer with the ALK mutation.  I have been on Xalkori since August 2,2015 and the tumors with the exception of one are gone. I will have a pet scan on April 21,2016 and am very hopeful that the existing tumor will have shrunk more or be gone altogether! I was scared to death when I received my diagnosis. Although I had some bad side effects from the Xalkori for the first coupe of weeks, I have stayed positive that I will be okay.  Thankfully I have a wonderful husband and great friends and family that have been praying for me.  I serve an awesome God and I know that he has a plan for me through all this!

80% reduction in tumor after 7 weeks of daily radiation and weekly chemo. Waiting for new scan then 2 big rounds of chemo. Back in the hospital now for a week with pneumonia in the other lung.

I am in remission its been two and half years. dr said the last time i went it was gone from my lympe nodes. i get lung x-ray at three months and ct scan at six months. For how long i don't know.
