Acupressure points to ease anxiety

Hey guys!

As promised here's my follow up on the meds free methods i'm trying to manage my panic attacks.

I've been testing out different acupressure methods for the last few days, and here's the ones that worked best for me ( i'd rather send you links to the short youtube videos that explain the method, it's easier with a visual so you can better find the pressure points you'll have to stimulate and how to do it )

this one is for a point located on the wrist :

this one is for a point located in the ear :

Personally the one on the wrist it worked fairly well, but the one in the ear was more effective in my case, so far this combined with breathing exercises has helped me a lot.

The next thing on my list will everything related with essential oils as poetgirl2 suggested to me :)

Hello :-)

Thank You for keep sharing all these great tips , and especially sharing how you found they worked , I am going to have a go later :-)

Somehow it would be nice if we could keep these helpful suggestions in one place so when replying to members we could just direct them straight to them , I shall have to come up with an idea how we could do that :-)

We are still quite on here but I am sure plenty read the posts and I always think reading what others are doing to help with their anxiety is a real help :-)

Like your new profile pic and well done putting all this effort into finding ways to help yourself :-) x

Thank you Sabysab! I am away from home at the moment but will have a proper look at the links when I get back on Friday. I always hope the anxiety will be better when I am away but it is quite bad today for no particular reason!

You’re welcome! And about anxiety getting worse when you’re away, one thing that really helps me with that is having something on me that reminds me of home, or even being in contact with someone from home, video calls usually do the trick for me, just seeing a familiar face and having a good laugh can help you feel better :)

It isn't the being away from home that makes me anxious. We are in Poland and come here quite frequently so know it well. I have good and bad days here just as I do at home. Yesterday I was fine! I too am puzzled why this site is so quiet. You are all so helpful and supportive.

Bad days are difficult to go through especially when we don’t even know why we’re feeling so low, and sometimes we don’t feel like having the strength to stand up for ourselves , again all i can share is what works for me in that type of situation, and when i have those type of days, i try to gather my thoughts and shift my mindset emphasizing on all the reasons why should have a smile on my face... sometimes i even force a smile and that exercise only has been proven to trigger chemicals in your brain to make you feel better... so i breath deeply, smile and shift my attention on every positive thing i have in my life .. it pulls me out of my negative thoughts pattern and it warms my heart and calms my anxiety down.

We gonne be ok :) YOU gonna be ok, give yourself some credit! Your mind is powerful!

Neurofeedback, EMDR, CBD oil, and neutralizing potential lactic acid buildup (common in people with panic disorder apparently) with baking soda should all be on your list if they aren't already. I haven't tried all of these yet myself ...

Hello Senator_McCat :-)

Let us know if you do try them and how it works :-) x

Last year my panic attacks and general anxiety scared me to the core. Wanting to avoid meds at all costs so I made some changes that gave myself the best chance to recover naturally. I avoided sugar and caffeine as much as possible. Thats fuel for anxiety. I made better choices in my diet too. I excercicised regularly. FYI it doesn't need to be extreme. Bikeing or brisk walking will do, just enough to get the blood and oxygen to the brain and detox it. I also began to practice mindfullness and acceptance via meditations and self hypnosis I found on YouTube and on podcasts. I inventoried my issues around fear, anger, shame, secrets etc and faced my fears. In addition I made gratitude lists, helped others in. need and focused on the positives. I did it without professional help but it's was inspired by a cognitive behavioral therapy called ACT- Acceptanceptance and commitment therapy. Lots of free videos on ACT for anxiety on YouTube It worked for me and I avoided meds and doctor billis. As a bonus, I lost weight and got healthier. . Just a suggestion. Good luck. ✌️

That’s super inspiring :) thanks a lot ! It’s encouraging to know that others made it without involving meds, reading this just re-enforced my motivation to keep going 👍🏻
