Today we are celebrating a huge milestone, as the NHS marks 75 years of service 🎂

At Arrhythmia Alliance, our mission is to promote timely and effective diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias (heart rhythm disorders); since 2004 when A-A was established we have worked collaboratively with the NHS to improve services for people living with an arrhythmia. More people are now diagnosed and receiving appropriate treatment thanks to this collaboration, we owe the NHS a great deal!

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) causes a quarter of all deaths in the UK, sudden cardiac death is the number one killer and atrial fibrillation is the leading cause of stroke - it's no wonder that diagnosing and treating CVD is listed as the single biggest area where the NHS can save lives in their Long Term Plan!

Hi Katrina. I replied to a related post by Tracy on Atrial Fibrillation, so I won't cross-post. I will summarise by saying that primary care needs to screen for undiagnosed atrial fibrillation and, not wait for the full report of the SAFER study.
