Loss of smell /taste

Hello. Following a TBI when I was 6 years old I have a very weak sense of smell and taste.

1- what can I do to appreciate my wife's body scent and /or cooking? She likes perfume but gave up as I can barely smell anything and I cannot appreciate her cooking much

2- I have a son who is a few months old so I want him to appreciate and recognise smells and tastes. How can I teach him about this?

Thank you

This is a bit off the wall. You may want to see if acupuncture could help you improve your sense of smell.

Hi,

New science is coming out all the time and there are some links being made between loss of smell and taste and oxidative stress. Lots of colourful fruits can help with this.

I recently learned that scalp needling - a form of acupuncture developed in the USA between neuroscientists and traditional Chinese medicine specialists - can help.

It helped me recently but I have to say that smelling better isn't always great as it is a bot of a shock to the brain when you can smell the fuel when you are filling your car and exhaust fumes! Of course, there are the nice sides but it made me laugh when I walked the long way around a car park the other day because I couldn't follow behind a woman with horrendous chemical perfume on!

Here is a blog I wrote about it - make sure you get someone who is experienced in giving this type of acupuncture - globalbia.org/scalp-acupunc...
