So it's almost the end of month 8 from date it happened, in recovery, last two months haven't really noticed any change. One issue which has not changed at all is my balance and inner body movements... I'm hoping to regain my balance. When, I don't know! Maybe when my eyes correct themselves properly. I'm longing for the day it all starts improving. I'm struggling with it now.. my smile is no longer ☹️ next month March, I have an appointment with a neuro, an eye appointment and an MRI scan, so I hope to get some advice on what's going on 🤔 it's seems to be going on for ages and I can't lead an independent life at the moment.

Hi Jo. I really do empathise with the balance issue. For some it seems to have abated to varying degrees but I still struggle, especially keeping the garden in order. And walking to the shops wondering if you'll make it back can be pretty daunting.

If only I didn't live in a busy town I'd use my bike every day. It's amazing how liberating it feels to get to places in a fraction of the time and without the balance issues. As cycling is controlled by upper-body manoeuvres, and there's nothing for the legs to do except the pedalling, I can pretend for a while that all's right with the world ! (and me). Not the case at present as I'm confined to bed with a slipped disc.

I hope you'll get some enlightenment in March Jo, hopefully leading to treatment. It's frustrating being held hostage by unforeseen issues with our brains But we do (somehow) usually manage to adapt, and find ways around our difficulties ; I have to remind myself how my main ambition after the SAH was to STAND and take some steps, and how far I've come since then. 😲

Good luck with your appointments next month and update us on the outcomes. Love Cat xx

Hi Steve, I use a 4 wheel walker. I’m living with my parents who have narrow corridors in their bungalow so I try not to use it but walk around the home using the walls. It’s hard for me as takes a lot of brain power but I do it... I never feel sick and I rotate more then spin really and it’s from the neck down, it’s like someone is turnin a hog roast! Does that make sense to you? I’m not very good at explaining.

I hope your appointments and MRI go well! Your balance will improve over time. My balance is bad too after my TBI so I would definitely do what I did and ask neurologist to refer you to physiotherapist as they will give you different exercises to help your balance. Hope this helps and you feel better soon.
