Hello Molly :

I've " blown up " this test result as best as I can but I only see a TSH and T4 result -

This shows your T4 at near the top of it's range and your TSH low suppressed but as you have Graves Disease I don't think that as anything of any importance.

Looking back at previous posts I see a few years ago some of your vitamins and minerals were in need of supplementation - I'm with Graves after RAI thyroid ablation and find I need to supplement ferritin, B12, folate and vitamin D on a weekly basis.

We need these vitamins and minerals optimal in order for the thyroid hormone replacement to work well and convert the T4 into T3 in the body as it is T3 the active hormone that the body runs on and not T4 which is a storage hormone.

I see also you were once on a much larger dose of Levothyroxine and this has been massively reduced down, was another Thyroid hormone replacement supplemented when your T4 was reduced ?

I think you need to have a full thyroid panel blood panal drawn so we have an up to date record of where everything is sitting and then we can offer considered opinion.

Can you please arrange a TSH, T3, T4, antibodies, inflammation, and a ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D blood test.

If your doctor is uable to process this for you there are private companies as detailed on the Thyroid uk website - some offer a nurse, home visit, which is the service I use.

Once with your results just throw the whole lot up here, results and ranges, and then we can see better what's going on and help you turn some things around for yourself.

This is what I had to do when l was left virtually housebound and with no answers nor solutions by my doctor a few years ago.

I'm with Grves post RAI thyroid ablation in 2005 and becamevery unwell about 8 years later and thank goodness I found this site and have been able to get myself back on track.

Where are you in your Graves and thyroid health journey ?

Hi Peenyannie, thanks for getting back to me. I have never been told that I have Graves. I self treat B12, vit, D etc etc but will get a full blood test done. No other thyroid replacement was used when my dose was reduced. I have been treated for UAT for nearly 30 years, never really been well until I sorted out B12 etc but these last couple of months things have gone haywire. Very worried that I’ll become housebound like before when my B12 etc were out of kilter. The whole trying to sort this out fills me with dread party because I never really grasp what I need to remember and that GPS tend to not know either. But first step is getting a full blood test done.

OK then - we have a plan :

If you look up to the top of your screen there should be a My Hub icon ?

If I press this icon I can see four forum options : can I please suggest that you switch to reading and posting on the Thyroid uk forum as if you stay on this platform it's pretty much assumed that you do have a diagnosis of Graves Disease.

Thyroid UK is the charity who support this forum and their website offers a lot more information into all things thyroid freely available to everybody and where you will find details of private companies who can action the full thyroid blood test " bundle " usually in double quick time.

So, I look forward to seeing you " on the other side " sooner rather than later :

OK then - I use Medichecks and I think it's called an Advanced Thyroid Function test and also arrange for a home visit with a nurse for a venus draw - it's a bit more money but, for me, less stress. I live in Cornwall and when I fist started this was the only company offering this service down here.

Ideally you need a blood draw as early as possibl in the morning and you should fast overnight and before blood draw just taking in water and delay taking your Thyroid hormone replacement until after the blood test.

Also you need to stop all supplements containing biotin for seven days before hand and I actually stop all my supplements for 7 days so to see how well my body is holding on to those I am supplementing.

Hope that makes some sense:

Please feel free to read other peoples posts and ask any questions you may need resolved .

Hello, I too have graves disease and currently am on block and replace 40 mg carbimazole and 100mcg levothyroxine per day.Your t4 is up towards the upper limit and I feel better at that but everyone is different. At your previous t4 level of 10.4 I would have felt ill and my hair would be falling out( I have been at these levels myself while slowly increasing my levothyroxine) .I'm sure someone with more experience at reading results will answer you.Hope you feel better soon.
