So as is the way with this condition, you cruise for a while then your eyes decide they do not wish to play ball!
So basically I’ve been noticing a decrease in clarity with my right eye. The Glaucoma clinic doesn’t think I’m an urgent case so I’m waiting till November where I will see a nurse 😒.
I had a feeling I had developed cataract in that eye but I’m not a doctor so made an optician apt and they confirmed it yesterday. They compared a scan pic to a year ago and unfortunately for me, it’s fast growing. I’m relieved it’s not something nasty like a bleed.
As a background, I’m 41 glaucoma since was 23, have had a trab at 29 in right eye.
the reason why I was pretty sure it as cataracts was because I had a CRVO in my left eye six years ago and receive injections for that. The injections brought on cataracts in that eye and I swiftly had it removed, privately on my health insurance.
It’s early days for me to decide what to do re right eye but just wondered who has had cataract surgery in an eye with a bleb?
Was it ok? Did it reduce pressure at all?
It hasn’t come at the best time really as I want to find another job and I’ve got to think about the private health and the time off work to recover.
I’m also sad that I’ll lose the ability to just pick up something and read without glasses.
Sorry long post but just wondered if similar!
