Hello, this is my first posting on this forum, and I am looking for some clarification (if possible).
I have inter ocular pressure in both eyes but the Consultant says it is not Glaucoma. The optic nerve is not damaged. I have eye drops, Monopost and more recently Timolol as my pressure was not coming down. At my last appointment it was suggested I have Laser treatment and today the appointment came. It is for Panretinal Laser Treatment. I was expecting SLT as my sister and my friend have had this for Glaucoma. Reading through the information I can see no reference to its use for Glaucoma or Inter Ocular pressure. Can anyone enlighten me? Has anyone had this? I will try and contact Ophalmology - Glaucoma tomorrow. The appointment is for next Tuesday!
Thank you

Panretinal Laser Treatment is performed when abnormal blood vessels are growing inside of your eye.
This would need to be treated before considering any other form of laser treatment.
As you were expecting to receive SLT which targets areas of the drainage system, and not PLT, it would be a good idea to contact the eye secretary for further information, and they can relay this to the consultant.
Thank you so much for responding to my post and clarifying what I had already suspected that there was an administrative error, and I was wrongly sent a patient information sheet for PLT instead of SLT. The Eye Hospital confirmed that I am booked in for SLT, thankfully!!
