Hey everyone. Hope you are all bearing up. I have just recently been diagnosed with FND. I am trying to figure out the best course of action. Anyone had good experience of hypnotherapy and can recommend any good ones? Please let me know.

Thanks

HiI've just joined this group because I suffer from RLS and after recently having Hypnotherapy one of the side effects seems to be relief from RLS.

Unfortunately I don't really understand the ins and outs and I went to Hypnotherapy for help with depression initially. The guy I saw is amazing and offers a 4change program which is 3 appointments. I hadn't realised the depression was caused by childhood trauma but he managed to clear that fairly easily.

Anyway long story short turned out I'd also got PTSD from another childhood trauma that I'd suppressed and clearing that seems to have taken away my RLS.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to recommend people on here but as you've asked for recommendations I would highly recommend Adam Bucklow, at MindblocksUK

I just had a look at his website and while some of it seems reasonable he writes 'an interesting fact about the mind is that it has no concept of space or time'. I realise he is saying this in the context of trauma from childhood but it's not true. Glad he was able to help you, though :)

No problem, he does help with a wide range of issues. Or maybe he could point you in the direction of someone more able to help you? I hope you manage to find something that works for you xx

Hypnotherapy was tried on people with the condition I have and it didn't work so I doubt I'd pursue this and know what treatment I need anyway (but it's not yet accessible on the NHS, unfortunately). All I wanted you to be aware of is that what he wrote isn't the truth.

Thanks BlueBrummie. I think it is worth trying out and I have been speaking to a number of hypnotherapists who say the same thing. On reflection I think there is probably some link and relevance to childhood trauma. It does not have to be abuse but

That's good, I hope it can help you in some way. I'm sure there are lots of different things that can cause trauma and have different negative effects on the body.
