My dentist tells me that no drugs actually cause loosening of teeth, but some of them lessen saliva, which in turn can cause gingivitis - a major factor in tooth loss.

Whatever the cause, the answer has to be a visit to the dentist asap. Tooth loosening can't be reversed, but with care and treatment it can be prevented from worsening and loss of the teeth.

Poor dental health can worsen other conditions, so it's doubly important to get treatment as soon as possible.

Hope this helps!

I have sjogrens as well as fibromyalgia so I have a very dry mouth. I don't have a problem with loose teeth but my gums regularly flare up and bleed. My dentist (who I visit every 6 months) said there is nothing that can be done I just need to use products to increase the moisture level in my mouth such as oral balance. When they are bad I rub TCP neat on them and that helps settle them down

Yes I've had gum problems last few yrs had fibro 13 yrs , I never minded going to dentist but now I hate it !!!! I have 4 injections just to have them cleaned , last time I went , she put the chair completely flat and pushed down so hard on me , then the suction thing they use was really painfull against my mouth

When I finally was finished I don't know how I walked out of there !!

I got in the car and broke down crying , I frightened my husband , I was shaking all over and in agony !!! I have to go back every 3 months and I'm scared stiff for the next appointment

It's defiantly fibro its too much of a conciquence other wise !!!!???

Yes got the same problems.

Started years ago when I started taking Amitryptiline.

What happens is they make the mouth very dry, which in turn rots the teeth, yuk!!

My doctor told me to chew gum, which increases the production of saliva.

Alas it gave me a awful jaw ache constantly chewing gum. So I had to stop.

Yes us fibromites are martyrs to our teeth lol!!

Not a lot we can do about it. We can hardly to stop taking the meds.
