Hi MC,

I haven't had them in my groin but did have up to 20 anaesthetic injections in my neck, shoulders, back of arms and lower back! I only managed to have this done twice as the tension in my neck and back where causing extreme pain when the inch long needles were going in! They made me more tense and the relief was for 3 weeks only. The initial pain for me was bad and I didn't want anymore!

It may work for you though, you can only try.

I had one in my knee, and it was great. I want some more, but long wait! I guess you should try it, Middlecave - if you don't like it there's no need to go back for more!

Best of luck, anyway.

I have trigger point injections in my neck shoulders and one in my back every three months, they certainly help relieve the muscle spasms which were causing migraine type headaches in me 3 days out of every 7 I have had 3 now in the last year such a great improvement

If you are offered any I would certainly say try it once ...I look forward to mine now as they help so much

hello grumpy

what are these injections called please? my doctor dosn't know what they are even though i said i had read about them

Trigger point injections I have 2 in each of the knotted shoulder muscles on the left and right side of my body 1 in the knotted muscle in the right side of my neck and one In the high left Side of my back they inject into the knotted muscle hurts for about 5 seconds then I can feel the muscles start to relax. Am sore slightly for 24 hours then relief for three months my GP referred me to my local pain clinic where they do these injections. As I react so badly to many meds these are a lifeline for me

Hope that helps

I have femeral ( probs not slelt right) nerve blocks after I had my knee caps removed in operation, but that was for 3 days following my surgery, so its probably not the same thing.
