been on gabapentin again for about 1mth dont sleep much feel so down but it took some of the pain away has any1 else been like this on it thanks x

Hello there Evie, I am sorry to hear that you're having sleep problems and that you're feeling down at the moment.

I note you say you're taking Gabapentin, we all tend to react differently to the meds that we are prescribed so we can't compare one person with another. What agrees and works well for one person might not necessarily be the same for someone else.

If you have any concerns about this medication, please speak to your GP who will discuss this with you. Also it might be a good idea to have a chat with your GP anyway to talk about how low you are feeling, your sleeping problems etc., you might need a low dose anti-depressant to help you through this, or you might need your current meds adjusting or changing which isn't unusual as our symptoms can change along the way.

i asked the chemist b4 he said give it 2 more weeks if i can it should b better if not go and see the doctor & thank you for your help xx

Hi Evie hope you feel better real soon,I am on gabapentin been I few month now I should imagine your go would raise them depending on the amount your taking, I am at 1800mg per day at the moment. Gp raising every 4 weeks. But everybody is different I am now sleeping better than I was .

i am on 300mg at night cos in the day they may me dizzy

I tried Gabapentin for about 6 months and didn't notice any improvement at all, but like LibertyZ has stated, what works for one may not work for another. I am now on Pregabalin and have been for about 4 months and to be honest, I'm not sure these are doing me any favours either, but I won't know until I stop them for a couple of days. I'm not sleeping and the cold isn't doing me any favours either... Keep your chin up, think happy thoughts, that's what gets me through. x
