I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last Wednesday. I'm not mad after all! I've been having various illnesses over the last ten years but this one takes the cake.
Life has been hell the last couple of years. I have arthritis and plantar fasciitis in my feet which means I can't walk more than a few steps without chronic pain. I also have most of the other conditions attributed to fm and have had most including chronic pain in all major joints, ibs, migraine painful and heavy periods and a serious reaction of the cold, to the point where I can say it's one of the few things I hate in life. The list of ailments could go on but whose got the time and i'm sure that if you're reading this, then you already know!
I have a tribunal tomorrow for DLA and I'm going alone. Your prayers would be appreciated. I'm not religious, but I have a strong faith in the Almighty.
I've had two different appeals turned down already but this time I'm going all the way. It got to the point where I borrowed the money and bought a mobility scooter off Ebay (other bidding websites are available lol.) If it wasn't for that I'd be totally housebound.
I think I'm just writing this to get it all off my chest. Not many people around me have any understanding of what a battle I feel I'm going through every day and have been going through for a long time. I give thanks every morning for the blessings of a new day and I always look for the positives. Today's positive; it's not raining!!! It's the little things that keep me going and make me smile.
Wishing you all much love and a pain free night.
Blessed love xxxx

Me too. I have special inserts I have to wear in all my shoes, even slippers. It does help a bit.

Oh congratulations got finally getting a diagnosis but really sorry you have it x Do you have a support group in your area ? I found my local friends with ME group really helpful. Fibromyalgia UK have a list of groups I believe. It'd good to find safe people to chat to x. This site obviously is brilliant. You can't beat face to face though x
Greetings,
Thank you all sooooooooo much for your advice and support. I had the tribunal this morning and have to wait for a decision to be posted. I'm not going to dwell on it. Nothing more I can do. I'm just glad I didn't see the dragon I saw for my ESA tribunal!
Thank you all again and I'll let you know the decisoin when I get it.
Unfortunately Stepper, no support groups in my area but once I get through the next few months, (winter hibernation) I may think about starting one.
