Anyone else find it easier to sleep well in the day rather than at night? How annoying is it!

I know exactly how you feel, can be sat on computer until the early hours because I can't get to sleep but come the daytime I'm falling asleep all the time it makes me feel like i am missing so much as when i am awake everyone else is asleep, doesn't make for much of a social life!

So right!

I just lost the whole day through sleeping. It's happened each weekend for the past month.

I have such plans of what will get sorted etc. then the day is gone.

Tried my best to turn it around as I thought it was because of the meds. Sadly nothing changes it for me, must be related to meds somehow as well as our body reacting to all we have done over the previous days. We just do not get a break. Yet !

Have you tried changing meds , mentioning this to your gp. Spent 15 years with the same problem every two weeks would take nytol for a few days just to get some sleep .. Then 4 years ago my dr prescribed an anti depressant and a muscle relaxant at night . I take them same time every night 10pm by 11 pm I am out like a light usually get 7 hours sleep. Wake up around 6am really stiff with swollen hands but the sleep is worth it .... Takes me about 2 hours to get going, Tried without them for a short while and insomnia and pain comes straight back. Don't know if this is an option for you to try..

Take care xx

Oh yes I could sleep all day & wide awake at night when I'm tired I still can't sleep I'm sure I do a night job ... I never feel as if I've had any sleep sometimes.. but nobody really understands how it is so I just get on with it sorry that you can't sleep cause its awful hope you get some soon x

I get my best sleep periods during the day, its just cat naps and sips of water through the night! If I am going through a Fibro good spell, with pacing I can regulate my bed times and wake times and manage to sleep at night, but then a flare-up can put paid to that in a second! Then it's back to square one waiting for a good spell again, very frustrating!

I usually go to sleep around 5-30 6ish if i am lucky and quite often sleep until 12 lunch time.

My Consultant is going to send me to the chronic fatigue clinic, not sure what happens at those clinics so if anyone has had an experiance with them i would appreciate if you could share your thoughts with me.I am hoping they hand out good sleeping tablets and tell me to go home and sleep Lol

The same problem here for years and years, I get to sleep 5-6 am and wake up about 3.30pm. Although when i do get to sleep i can sleep i don't feel any better. Then if I have to get up for an appointment or something its like 3 hrs sleep and a nightmare. Even after getting up early i still end up sleeping the same time. I am waiting for pain management will ask them for help. I think its because I am on my own all day till 6ish and can't do much for myself so get very low.

I'm not on any meds other than my meds for hypertension. My GP 'doesn't believe' in Fibro and the Amytriptoline and another painkiller he gave me for my hip/back pain disagreed with me so I just take the odd Solpadeine/Solpadol. I also suffer from Sleep Apnoea and this is also worse of a night than in the day.

I can't get any financial help and my poor hubby has kept me for four years now . How can I possibly get a job in my current tired, forgetful and pained state?

I'm really worried about our finances now and that is not helping the Fibro.

Vicious cycle or what...

THank you all for your replies and good wishes - it's so nice to be understood for a change.

I tend to get up really late in the mornings so that I am sure to wake up by the afternoon and feel so much better by evening time. I am a hopeless sleeper at night, I've always been a bit of an insomniac, so living this way suits me fine. I am fortunate I don't have to work, otherwise my sleeping and wake times as they are now wouldn't be at all possible.

It is such a relief to read this post as I am exactly the same no matter what time I try to sleep I am awake all night drop off between 5 - 7 am then feel guilty because I am in bed still at 11 and half the day is gone and I never feel refreshed. I have sleeping tablets along with many more pills but nothing helps. I am under a lot of stress at the moment which could be making it worse along with the worst fibro flare up and depression that I have had in years.
