Can I get this med prescribed by a reumathologist? My gp says he can't prescribe it ecause it's not licensed for fibro only for epilepsia. Lyric is th same type of drug and it's now licensed and widely used for fibro.
Is anyone on it? I've read it's very good for chronic pain and headaches.

Yes you can geet it prescribed by a rheumy. I got mine from GP! I didn't find it helpful but a lot of people do, so worth a try. Get your gp to write to rheumy, that way you will get it quicker than having to wait for hospital appoinment.
My daughter uses it for her crippling migraines, she was up to three weekly and now has had none at all for over a year. It's an epilepsy drug. I would like to know why they have suggested this for fibro though?????
Hi Smiley I take this mainly for hemi-plegic migraines but have found it has helped with restless legs & night time jerks, I got mine from neurologist xx
I take topiramate for chronic daily migraine as part of fibro, i was prescribed by the neurologist originally and then increased by the GP. I am on a tablet daily and find it helps..
