Hi,yes i had a knee arthroscopy done a couple of years ago,and was in a lot of pain for about 6 weeks.I think everyone is different.I also had a knee replacement last july and ime still in alot of pain.I was told people with fibro take longer to get over things.I am still having x-rays done every 3 months to see if anything has changed with the knee and they keep saying everything looks ok.Althou the pain is better than before i had it done its still very painful so i decided not to have my other knee done.Hope your pain stops soon ime sure that it will settle down think it just takes time.

Thanks, poor you, sounds like you've been through the mill. My knee will need replacing eventually, so will have to weigh up the pro's and con's!

Forgot to say................ I had a Bunion op in Nov 2011 and a few weeks after that I was diagnosed with M.E. but aside from that my foot took a lot longer to heal than normal and i had one of the Top Surgeons he said it was down to my condition which made it longer to heal. x x x x

Thanks, makes me feel better! Oh no a bunion op, I know someone that's just had that done, very painful and a long recovery at the best of times, but with fibro it must have been so much worse for you!

Yes and a few days ago my big toe started really throbbing I assume its probably now part of Fibro, but will check with my G.P.

hi I am new on here and was also asking about prlonged pain after surgery, mine was hip replacement, have already had answers from others to say it is the fibro causing it, and now reading some of the answers to your question it really seems to be the case, but my doctor ignored the questions, but others are obvioiusly willing to say its fibro.

It sounds like it's a doctor lottery out there, hopefully one day they will all be singing from the same hymn sheet! Logically it does make sense as we are more sensitive to pain.
