horrendous night

really dont know, now what pain relief to try now, Im on baclofen gaba,duloxetine, co codemol, but last night, all night the pain was horrendous, Im knackered from having no sleep

Hi Lally.

Do you ever feel like why are you taking all these painkillers when you are still in so much pain? I question everything i am given now!

Gabapentin wasnt helping me (cos it made my costipation worse and caused weight gain) so I came off that. Co-Codomol is the same so I am unable to take that as well.

Naprosyn is an anti-inflammatory but i am only allowed 2 a day so that isnt enough at times.

Tramadol is the only thing and diazepam that takes the edge of for me but i am not allowed no more diazepam,

You sound like you are suffering so badly i think you may eed to discuss your amount pain with the doctor and ask what they really think is helping you.

I feel for you so much and i hope you can get some relief today somehow. xx

tramadol is only one works for me, with diazapam now and then.

my doctor reminded me "they are not pain killers but pain relievers, they take away some but not all of the pain, the name is misleading!!"

Yes I think it is all to easy to forget with our meds, they are to help relieve the symptoms they are not magic meds where all of the symptoms dissapear............

Listening to radio 3 or other soothing music sometimes helps me at night to relax.

Poor you Lally! It sounds to me as though you may need your medications reviewing as clearly you aren't getting the relief you need. Might be worth having a chat with your GP to see if they can prescribe you something more suitable that would help you more, ease your pain too thereby promoting more rest and sleep for you.
