Hey friends:)

Does anyone else here suffer from recurring acne problems? and if yes, what do you use to control, prevent and help treat spots/blemishes.

Hugs:)

Hey Diddle,

Thanks for your reply. I've been using this lotion the GP gave me but it's not helping. I've seen dermatologists in the past but it just keeps returning! :( my spots are now so bad I cant go out unless I wear make up to cover them up :(

But I will return to the GP and see if she can give me something else.

Thanks Diddle:)

Love Faery ;)

Hey faery, my daughter suffered really bad cystic acne as a teenager and it totally took over her life and ruined her confidence. We tried all sorts of pills and potions until eventually the dermatologist prescribed Roacutane. Pretty potent medication but it worked for her. She is now in her late twenties and has never had any more problems with acne. I hope you find something that works for you x

Hi. Yes I have had acne problems since 2001 and have been on anti-biotics since then. I also use tea tree oil products from the Body Shop. They are really good and have certainly reduced the outbreaks. Hope this helps 'cos I know how depressing it is!

Hey Dinko

Thanks for your comment huns:) I was on Roaccutane in my late teens and it did help to clear up my acne but then it returned when I stopped. Also I couldn't stand the side effects - my lips used to get so dry they'd crack and bleed :S

Hey Marion, it is so depressing. I use tea tree oil as well when I first get a pimple. I use that and alot of the Witch products now. Are there other specific products that help? could you tell me what I should look for? Lately I find when I put the tea tree oil on my acne it sometimes gets bigger :S instead of going down and I always get bad blemishes! even if I don't touch them :(

Hugs you guys:) xxx

Hello

Well what do you think I am at a good old age of 59 you dont expect to

get spots at this age or so I thought.

So yes I get them as well, I think its the medication that we take, I

use witch hazel as an astrigent (not sure I have put the right spelling

there) and a good niva soft for my face after.

If I get a big spot I put dont laugh, tooth paste on it over night and

it drys it up it is very good, but if you have a husband he may think

you have lost the plot but nothing new there with fibro.

Hello Viv,

It's funny about your husband thinking you've lost the plot, but I don't. In my natve Trinidad, I've heard people use the same toothpaste. And my grandmother used to say putting some soft candle (melting a bit of a candle stick) onto the spot would do the trick. These are old remedies that work too:) nevermind with the hubby:)

Thing is I used to get acne before I started these meds. And my mother also has bad acne as well in her late 40s.

I spend so much money on skin care that's upsetting but I won't give up. Clear skin seems to be my forever elusive goal :S

Best wishes with the skin care:)
