You know we all suffer from 'bubble wrap' those areas packed with layers of lactic acid which hurt like hell ( in the armpit and the inside of the knees for instance). Well here's something from a cutting in a newspaper which sounds good in theory and might help. Post me if you try it so we can see the results. Ta.
Stand under a warm shower then turn heat up for 60 seconds then turn to cold for 60 seconds, repeat 5 times. This causes your blood vessels to dilate and constrict, flushing out lactic acid - a compound produced in the muscles when you exercise, causing stiffness. You'll feel less soreness, recover quicker, and can get more out of the next exercise session.
Good luck!

Do you have to plunge to cold or can you slowly reduce the temp?
I didn't know it is lactic acid that causes the pain - thank you for another learning for the day
