Ear pain

Hello, I keep getting ear pain both sides. I have just been seen at ENT . He was more concerned about my snoring and is sending me for tests for sleep apnoea. He just said its fibromyalgia in your ears! I feel rather dismissed again. As they see your records and spot fibro, it's like an easy get out for them. Does anybody else have it and if so how do you cope?

Sorry to hear you have ear pain. I do too and thought it was an ear infection or getting water in my ears after swimming. I finally went to the GP who said I have osteoarthritis and gave me steroid cream to put on underneath and around my ear. I can't say I've noticed much difference in the pain. Because of teeth grinding, I have a gum shield at night. Not sure if that has contributed to the ear pain. I hope you feel an improvement soon.

Thanks for your reply. I also have osteoarthritis plus osteoporosis. It can be an uphill struggle not knowing which condition to blame the pain on. I'll ask my GP if he knows of anything. Keep smiling.

Hiya 👋 Fibromyalgia in your ears! Really!? 🤔 Surely he's making that up! I do get ear pain that comes and goes and tinnitus that also comes and goes. If it gets too much I spray in the ear calm and this seems to help. I have seen ent on NHS and an audiologist privately and been for ear tests at Boots but it's all a big vague in diagnosis 🤷. I also get sinus and wax issues so just assume it's one of these when they give me gip 🙉. Best of luck getting some relief x

Yes I also have tinnitus that doesn't go away. Plus wax issues. I also have head pain which doesn't go but does ease with pain killers. If the head pain gets its way it follows the jaw line and round my eye socket. I've had acupuncture which worked for a while but no longer. I too have gone private but it's got me knowhere. It's just an uphill struggle every day. Keep smiling.

Absolute up hill struggle 😩 it's enough to drive you mad isn't it 🙄. Yep, I can relate to face and head pain too and teeth ache 😏. I've had the same experience with going private too. Generally, it's quicker to see someone but the same dead end 🤷. How frustrating that acupuncture worked then stopped working. I used to work with someone who said, 'smile, it fools them all'! Keep smiling too. At least the sun is shining today 😎 x

Thanks for your words of comfort. My sister is already diagnosed with sleep apnea. So I know what's going to happen, and the equipment to use. X
