I want to apply for PIP but I was diagnosed by my GP , I don't have a specialist. Does it matter? Can I still apply or should i wait to be seen. ?

as long as your doctor is up on fibromyalgia and has done all the necessary checks, it’s fine, they will have all the information you need. Good luck.

Pip is based on how your condition affects you on a daily basis, not what you have or who diagnosed it

If you contact our benefits team they can send you guidelines on applying

my diagnosis was from the doctor, I asked about a specialist & they said they only send you to one if their not sure you have it x

I was diagnosed by my Doctor 13 years ago. I didnt apply for anything until about 7 years ago, but i got the PIP and a Blue badge with no problems at all. Good luck. x

I would apply straight away. I didn't have a specialist as such just calls to the GP and medication prescribed. Good luck x
