I struggled with pains, burning in my feet like hot coals striking up my legs at night.. I had two spina bifida children 60 yrs ago caused by lack of folic acid, so since my body didn't make, googled it and found peripheral nerve damage could be a though. I sent of for vitamins containing folic acid and after three days the pains seem to have gone.

Wow! My feet and legs are the same and I used to be permanently anaemic. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis as well as fibro. My son's have similar spinal and arthritic problems. I have MRI proven nerve damage and compression. Off to buy some folic acid supplements.....

Useful reminder! Thanks Ladybird. I will take note and look at my supplements and foods. It's too easy to become tired and disorganised and stop taking things especially on restricted diets. Might be a lack of this affecting my fingers and co-ordination right now and perhaps even eyesight.

I shall try and find a decent website to read up on it because I realise I have always taken folic acid for granted except when I was thinking of getting pregnant, forty seven years ago in my case, but that was post war and I think that all made a difference with regard to advice and what was available. I was in Canada at the time too and had access to all kinds of newish foods and advice. I think I may have overdone the yeast as nutrition in pregnancy though as my eldest suffers quite badly with migraines and I do have a yeast allergy which gives me migraines too!

I am interested in anything that helps against pain so thanks again. Meanwhile, I wish you a nutritious and painfree Christmas. 🍏🥑🍍🍎
