duloxitine side effects

hi. Is there anyone who has experienced skin rashes as a side effect from duloxitine? My GP has tried various creams but now believes it’s a side effect and wants me to stop duloxitine to see if it improves. I’m a bit scared as it’s really helped the pain and I’ve heard horror stories about coming off them. Any experiences would be very helpful. Thank you

Hi, I'm currently on 40mg Duloxetine. Not had any rashes but do get nausea. It's not helping with my pain yet so was wondering what dose you were on? Rashes are horrid things. Hope it's not itchy too? It's so hard knowing what causes our many symptoms or side affects 🥴 , it can make you feel like you're going a little mad sometimes! Withdrawal symptoms are indeed a worry. I certainly suffered them coming off amitriptyline. I hope you get some other responses as I'm interested in other people's experiences of Duloxetine too. Take care x

Hi. I’m on 30mg and really do feel they’ve helped my pain, I didn’t take one yesterday and today already the pain is returning to my shoulders!

The rash is seriously itchy and everywhere! I’m fed up if people commenting on it as it’s so ugly. Watch this space though, I may need to put up with the rash as can’t face going back to the level of pain I had 😞

yuk, sorry to hear the rash is itchy. I think I take pain over itchy personally. I'm so pleased the duloxotine is working for you. I'm reducing to 30mg as the nausea isn't great for me. Best of luck getting the rash down. When I had a nasty all over rash from a reaction to some antibiotics, the doctor at A&E thought good old fashion Piriton was best for rashes. I was also sent home with a short course of steroids (Prednisone) which of course came with their own side affects but also took all my aches and pains away for the first time in years! I also had an injection of antihistamines from the paramedics as my throat was closing up and injection of steroids at the hospital. I was then given Fexofenadine antihistamines and steroid cream. Those rashes can be persistent but fortunately it didn't itch. I looked like I had scarlet fever. It was nasty so I can sympathise!

I’m hoping a week in the sun might help so I’m off on hols tomorrow. With regards your nausea, I started taking mine in the morning with breakfast and it really helped. As it doesn’t make me drowsy it was t a problem. Good luck, hope it helps with the pain x
