I get bad vertigo due to something called BPPV, does it happen all the time or when you move your head? My gp prescribed promethazine and it really helps. I.hope you get to the bottom of it x

Hey! I was diagnosed with BPPV over 10 years ago… it’s a very debilitating condition- initially it was thought that I had a virus - I was referred to a balance specialist who gave me exercises but this didn’t work. I can only describe the feeling as being drunk but without the alcohol. I was told that the inner ear crystals needed to be repositioned- hence the loss of balance- I sometimes feel nauseous but not always. My right side is more affected than my left. Over the years I have learned to adjust my daily lifestyle and I listen to my body- I take break’s regularly and I try not to overdo things. There is a manoeuvre called the Eply manoeuvre which can be done ( by a medical professional) which can help to reset but as I have a back condition I was unable to have this as it was feared that it would aggravate my back. Im happy to answer anything about this if you have any queries- I had never heard of this condition until I was diagnosed with it- however I have learned that it is quite a common condition so I don’t feel so alone with it. Take care x

I started with vertigo last year, only had it once before on holiday. Mine thankfully only occurs when I first go to bed, as I lay down the room is spinning but it passes in minutes.Hope you get everything sorted.

Gentle hugs my friend.

Hi, yes I've had this just last week, it started when I was in bed and I just turned over and felt really dizzy, it lasted about 4 days and I'm ok again now, it's not the first time I have had it but thankfully, on each occasion it hasn't lasted for long. X

I suffer with mild vertigo frequently but for the first time my GP took it seriously and called me in! She did the manoeuvre stated above and it was over! I'm sure there are many different types of vertigo???Few yrs back I was bed ridden for a month with Meniers Disease. That took an age to sort with medication...

Luckily that has not returned!

Do hope you find the cause soon and this disability lessens...

Horrid for you!

XxX
