I am new to this site. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2014 and have been on many different medications. Nothing worked. If I stooped down to get something out of a lower cupboard I couldn’t’ raise myself back up. My husband found me in the flower beds numerous times as I got down and couldn’t get back up. Had to carry my cell phone even in the house so I could call for help. My Doctor put me on Sertraline 4 years ago and it has done wonders for me. My biggest issue now is my back and rib pain and inflammation. Does anyone else have any issues with back/rib pain?

Hello and a warm welcome, I think it’s a very good idea carrying your phone with you for sure, that would be me stuck in the flower bed and not getting up 😂 I must admit if I was stuck anywhere it would differently be with the flowers 🌸 back problems have followed me for a long time and I think mostly it’s wear and tear but fibro differently pays a part in my shoulders blades , shoulders @neck and some days the ibuprofen gel comes out. Never without a soak in the evenings with my Epsom salts and I do differently notice if I miss a bath with aches @pains. Does the cold weather affect you more ? It certainly does for me @ at home a lot more when it’s cold. I hope you find the forum helpful xx

I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and on sertraline which does nothing for me, I do get pain under my ribcage and my I can hardly walk most of the time.

Hi there! And welcome! 💗 For me, rib pain is a big thing and was actually where my pain first started, I think it is because our rib muscles literally never get to rest as we are always breathing, my back always hurts in certain places, too, mostly lower back/hip and near my neck and between my shoulder blades. I get unbearable stabbing pain that makes it hard to breathe sometimes. I assume because those muscles get used the most, too? I could be wrong in my reasoning, but I feel you. The thing that helps me the most is heat (hot bath/shower/sauna) and stretching, also moving as much as I can without causing more pain which I've found super tricky to figure out and still haven't worked it out lol. Also massage (when i can afford it) and relaxation.. yoga nidra is super helpful, if you haven't tried or heard of it I highly recommend! Just google yoga nidra, there are lots of YouTube videos. All the best! Take care xox
