cure for chron’s

Has any had chron’s diagnosis for over 20 years to be told they no longer have it. Not that it’s in remission.

Hi there, from what I understandThere's currently no cure for Crohn's disease, but treatment can control or reduce the symptoms.

Is it possible you could have been misdiagnosed. Just a thought.

was taken into hospital and after all tests in hospitals was diagnosed with chron’s / colitis’s. Many follow up appointments in same hospital same thing.

Now under a different consultant I had colonoscopy by an under study who could even find lessons and had to have consultant point out one as he popped in. ( she had missed multiple one’s before the consultant came in). This is who said I’ve not got chron’s.

So it seems you have the answer to your question. Due to the lack of experience of the junior consultant they were going to misdiagnose you.

Sorry for any misunderstanding in my earlier reply but you never posted the whole facts.

Maybe a lesson for us all to learn. If your dealing with an inexperienced medical person dont be afraid to question their diagnoses.

You should tell your GP this, about the trainee and ask to be refered for a second opinion.

My 92 year old mother has active Crohns. The consultant told us that, this is highly unusual as they normally expect to see a " burn out" of the Crohns in someone of her age, so they are monitoring her closely 🙋
