Hi, can anyone help me with my extremely painful, stiff neck which started four days ago. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Very painful neck.
Hi,
I use a hot water bottle or a wheat bag. The warmth soothes the muscles. I hope it works for you
x
Heat and gentle stretching exercises
Diffo agree with something warm like a wheat bag , if it gets suddenly worse perhaps see your GP or practioner nurse for some advice , I am currently using a rub in ibuprofen gel on neck shoulders (always run things by your chemist if on any meds ) I do find it helpful and differently getting in for a warm soak in the bath every evening x
These look really good, haven't tried them yet though. Seem to be available everywhere as well as A
I have this same problem regularly. I've found the only thing that works for me is a cbd freeze roll on. I've attached a pic. I get this from a local shop (all legal 😀) they are super helpful and knowledgeable. I can send you a link privately if you're interested you might be able to send them a message for more info. Please note tho I use the strongest one they do 1600mg. I used to use 250mg but I had it that long it went out of date, plus it was a branded one whereas now they do their own.
Hope this helps x
Heat, heat and more heat. If really bad (I am currently on day four of painful neck and pounding headache) I take two Ibruprofen tablets which takes the edge off it. I do a lot of deep meditation breathing which relaxes the muscles and lean over a heavy cushion which I place on my lap and I then support my head in my hands. This takes the strain off the neck muscles and works for me. Started to feel a bit better this morning thank goodness. The one thing I cannot do is lean on my back as any pressure makes the pain much worse.
I've suffered mostly with neck+shoulder pain over the yrs+definitely HEAT!Check yr pillows; can be a costly exercise but worth it in the end!
I use v firm pillows and now always use a travel pillow to go to sleep... It's the right height+firmness for my needs and it definitely keeps yr neck warm in these freezing temperatures! Bit too warm in the summer though, but I just can't live without it! Bought mine at Dunelm with removable cover! Washes perfectly...
Do hope these suggestions r helpful to yr needs??? X
