Hi everyone

I had a 2 week flare up and caught a bad cold, I now have terrible ear ache.

I don't ever remember feeling as poorly as I am now with a cold. I was wonderering if fibro makes general illness worse?

Thanks take care x

Hi x

I’ve spoken to a few people lately who have had a really heavy cold and blocked sinuses. My daughter is usually fit and well and she’s had it for weeks. Not sure if it’s a fibro thing, as I think there’s a bad strain going around at the moment.

The doctor gave my daughter a steroidal nasal spray to clear her sinuses as that is what was causing the ear pain x

Hope you feel better soon 🥰

I would say it doesn't, well not in my case. Normally I don't get any bug that's going about, but I do ensure I take regular vitamin C, saying that over Xmas for the first time in years, I did pick up this horrendous bug that was going around, but by talking to everyone who also had it, they also took about a month to recover, as I did.

Hope you feel better soon, Spring is on its way

I take longer to recover than the rest of my family always, but then I'm an insomniac having a cold makes me sleep even worse, which then triggers more migraine and IBS etc on top of the cold.

Thank you so much for the replies. Was just an idea as I've never had ear pain so bad. When I hurt my foot a while back was terrible and knew I'd read that fibro could make hurt pain worse for us. Keep well all

hi bonkers I thought for years before I knew about fibromyalgia that I kept getting earache but the doctor couldn’t see any signs of infection, it was my dentist that suggested it could be TMJ which causes pain in the jaw but can feel like earache, now I have fibromyalgia and a lot of other people that have it also suffer with TMJ , for me paracetamol work but everyone is different of course, take care hope you get some relief , this bug that’s going around has made my symptoms much worse xxx

Hi, what is TMJ please. I have the same symptoms as yourself, except that my hearing has gone down and I now have hearing aids in both ears. XX

best to Google it was an accurate description, I was told it’s similar to arthritis in the jaw , hope you find some helpful answers 👍

I totally get what you are saying, I have this horrendous pain in my jaw and ear. I feel totally exhausted and sleepy and sluggish.I am so exhausted i can’t get myself out of bed.

I am considering going back to work full time as like everyone the rise in the cost of living is difficult. I have an interview on Tuesday, I’m still considering if I should go.

Take care xx
