I once joked to my GP about leaving my body to medical science to which he replied, “don’t they won’t want it”. It still makes me smile.

I was feeling like that last week when I got Strep on top of everything else. I think I must have given offence to a whole country in a previous life I've got so much going on .

I'd had a kidney infection and pancreatitis before Christmas so I'm hoping the Strep was the third in a set of threes and I might get a break now. The Fibro and Migraines have been off the charts throughout because , if course , they are divas and can't be left out!!!

Hi! I am not sure that I can help you very much, but I can shed some light to what is going on with your body. Look at the list of "chronic diseases and syndromes", where the science has no answer what causes them and how to cure them (first pages of HealingWell forum, USA). They range from asthma to Parkinson's disease. All of them have the same cause - the disturbance of Autonomous Nervous System, shortly called Dysautonomia. Of all the quoted disease, people can have only one, say Asthma, and nothing else. Others have several, and the unfortunate ones have a lot - up to 10 different problems, all having the same cause. Why is it so!? Because of the complexity of ANS, so it is impossible to know what functions will be affected and what combination you may have. What people mostly have, are Fibro, cardiac arrhythmia, CFS, GERD, autoimmune disease, allergy, IBS, depression, anxiety etc.

In the past decades, there is a pandemic of chronic disease, so the MDs have started researching it more intensely. In EU, a large fund has been reserved for the research of CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). All we can hope, is that it will bring some results...

Uhh...

Anxiety, panic, depression, lotsa undiagnosed extras I'm extra sure of...

Have you been diagnosedwith anything. I'm pretty much exactly the same and all I've got at the moment is CarpalTunnel Syndrome. Waiting for opon my wrists and elbows. We shall see.

Yes nerve damage and spine wear and tear they said. Don't understand where the nerve damage has come from as I haven't done anything

My nerve damage was form suurgery

Oh my god. Did or are you getting compensation. I couldn't put a prcie on that.

Were you saying you were waiting for an operation? I couldn't quite make it out. My wrist and hand pain improves for a bit when I wear a stiff metal brace to bed. Takes a week or two to help. Ice packs help too, when the pain is very bad.

I haven't got any diagnoses of the physical problems. Only infinite tests. No problem getting the mental health diagnosis. They absolutely agree, I'm pretty messed up.

Yes I had the electronic tests moved on to physio who gave me splints to put on at night but it made me feel worse. Woke up with severe pins and needles. Moved on to Orthapedics and finally told I'm having an op on wrists and elbows. Signed the consent form now just waiting for date. Its took since last July to get this far. Got a telephone appointment with Physio again on my neck, don't know what he can do over the phone. and another one with pain management. One can only live in hope

Medicine here in the U.S. is a mess, but I never heard of waiting so long! I'm so sorry, I hope the operation brings you some relief. Meanwhile, it might not hurt to try on the brace at the pharmacy and see if that's better than the one you were given. I tried on A LOT of braces before I found one that felt comforting and helped.

thanks. Never thought of that. I'll try and see

My hands and fingersare permanently cold and tingleing so ice packs wouldn't help me. Quite numb most of the time if I'm not in pain

That's an interesting coincidence. The doctors said there's no connection, but my hands are usually icy. Not numb though.

Feels like a tight pair of rubber gloves. Numb at the fingers
