hi I am sorry for the rant but I suffer from horrible anxiety and I love going out when I can, but I sometimes struggle with feeling weird, panic, and worrying about if I have to sit down or something. I am not sure my family understand, they try but I just want to be normal again as much as I can x

Hi, sorry that you are struggling so much with anxiety over going out. I have a walker with a seat which I use, when I'm going anywhere that I'm unsure if I can get a seat (when not using walker I use crutches).

Life with fibro may never return to *normal* - and sometimes you need to plan ahead, make adjustments and work around your fibro to do things you want. Xxx

Sorry to hear you are struggling but always remember you are not alone. I found that if you are feeling anxious/panic there are some amazing breathing techniques about. Yes I sound like a nutter I thought that when someone told me. They really help especially with panic and anxiety. I also listen to a relaxation tape every day. There is a really good site on the Web. It is free with hundreds of tapes etc on It's called " Insight Timer" Listen with headphones on and escape into "you" time!

It takes time to find someone you are in tune with but don't give up. It does work.

Also if possible use something called "Distraction technique" Find something to take your mind elswhere eg crafting reading etc whatever floats your boat. Get outside if you can every day. Look at nature thats a great one. As for family don't expect them to change accept that you can live alongside this pain rather than with it. Fybromyalgia UK have a great handout that really helps with getting other people to understand. I've even got my mother-in-law on

board ! That in itself was a miracle. If you can get one person to read it they will understand what you are going through. Good luck and stay strong. Mx

Hi, sorry to hear about the anxiety. I'm sure we can all relate. Agree with other replies about looking into relaxation/gentle exercise.

Nordic walking UK website is walx.co.uk and they do yoga walks with breathing exercises along with wellness classes for relaxation and balance. It's great to get outside and be in nature as this is so helpful. Also being with other likeminded people helps.

Good luck.
