Hello, I got my PIp award and the letter said “for ongoing period”. Does anyone know just what or how long that means please? Or is it just a phrase they use to confuse? Thanks for any ideas.

Oh thanks Ajay, that is good news. I’m stressed to bits anyway, so that’s hopefully one box I can tick off. Let’s hope the “government” in their wisdom don’t make any changes! 🤗

Great news, I'm just in the process of an appeal l initially got awarded zero points. Do you have any tips? Did you have to appeal go to tribunal? I have fibro, CFS & mental health issues.

Hi, I initially had enhanced living and standard mobility but when they did my assessment they took away my mobility which I was very upset about and almost appealed. However, having asked around I was advised maybe leave it alone as it’s so stressful and could come away worse off 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️. Seeing as you were awarded zero points though you have nothing to loose. My only advice is to answer questions thoroughly and talk about how you are affected day to day (make it your worst days throughout) and send in as much evidence i.e. doctor’s/hospital reports etc. Good luck!

I know it is really hard to manage without money and having chronic pain makes you more tired and stressed. But now relax and enjoy. At least one problem financial is sorted it. Enjoy happy day.

Brilliant news. I got my basic PIP finally at 64 and it ends on my retirement date in 2024 - IE I only seem to get it for 2 years?!

Hi Maud-ie, after retirement you get Attendance Allowance instead of PIP. It was easy to apply for and like PIP it does not affect means tested benefits. I helped my mum through the process recently.

Thank you. Not necessarily, I initially got mine when I was 64, however I’m 67 now. They will probably do an assessment when you reach retirement age but you may not loose it. That’s what happened to me. Good luck!

I'm so pleased for you. I've read and been told that if you've been awarded PIP before you retire it carries on into retirement. St least that's one less thing to worry about.
