Hi all

Hope everyone is having a good day .

I'm just recovering from a bad bout of covid and it's left me even more totes than before. My legs are feet have shooting pains and I'm having toubke sleeping, even though I'm exhausted.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this because of Covid ? Any suggestions for helping sleep 😴.

Take care of yourself and each other .

hi, yes I’ve had Covid recently and it's left me exhausted and yet struggling to sleep- weird isn’t it. I have arthritis and it has flared that up too so I’m struggling with the pain. Eager to see if anyone comes back to you with sleep tips, I’ve given up trying all the usual remedies as none have worked so I listen to radio 4Extra most of the night and find I usually fall asleep around 4 am for a couple of hours 🙄

Hi. I had covid just before Easter. It wasn't even bad, just like a bad cold. Since then though, I have been absolutely exhausted all the time. My fibro and arthritis have been worse too. My doctor thinks that I have long covid and I have been referred to the covid clinic-still waiting. There are days that the pain gets so bad that I cry because I don't feel that I can cope with it.

My sleep pattern is random. For a few nights I sleep ok and then it goes back to tossing and turning all night.

I use a weighted blanket, listen to sleep sounds on Alexa like rain, ocean that sort of thing, also essential oil on my pillow and I try to do some breathing/relaxation type stuff. I also tend to take a hot water bottle to bed as I find that it helps in the night if the pain keeps me awake.

I try to take it one day at a time. I hope you find something that helps you. 😊

For whatever reason covid sent my sleeping patterns into a spin. I hardly slept for 4-5 weeks. That made the fibro worse but the covid wasn't too bad on its own and the body aches etc settled down fairly quickly.

Just rest when you can would be my advice.

Hi , I have just got over Covid too, was positive for 11 days. I thought I was going on ok but today I am absolutely shattered even though I slept well.I could hardly climb the stairs just now .

I think the only thing we can do is pace ourselves very carefully and get as much rest and good nutrition as we can.

Hello Mrdiagnosis, yes I’ve had COVID on top of the fibro but it was a mild case mostly sinus related symptoms. I take melatonin for sleep take it around 7:30pm and it generally helps makes me sleepy around 10:00-10:30pm. On a few occasions I forgot to take my night meds and I would still sleep through the night just have a lot of vivid dreams. I’m on 100mg of Amitriptyline which when I first was prescribed it my heart rate went up to 135. The doctor said to stop taking it so I did and only slept 45minutes that night. Needless to say I took it the following night. Also I listen to meditation apps at night which helps. Kelly Howell has meditation app called healing meditation which works great like a sleeping pill. I pray that you find relief and are able to get the sleep you need.
