I just had a look on reviews, doesnβt have a very good rating, and some are complaining of stomach cramps and sickness.
I would be interested to see other replies.
Hi Blues52
Yeah I read that too, but to me thats a side effect which all meds have and its 50/50 chance wether you will have them. I want to see if anyone here has used , to know if they helped at all. My brother-in-law has just started using and has seen a big difference to hes Arthritis, and also curious about the company if anyone has used before.
As u say it'll be interesting to see if anyone has opiopinions.
Thanks for Reply
This is a footnote totally unrelated , but when I write on here my messages are repeating every word 4,5,6,times, so I'm always having to delete constantly. It only happens on here !!! Is it my phone or is it something that I've touched !!!! What's HAPPENING??????π±π±π±π±π±π±
Iβm going to look up the ingredients, as I have to be so careful with my ibs-d, keep us in the loop about your brother-in law, I hope it helps him. And you if you decide, after replies, to take it,

I have used serrapeptas several times . No side effects but didnβt do anything either.
I'm a big advocate for using diet and vitamin and mineral supplements to help to reduce my symptoms as part of daily Self Care. I also have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome , Chronic Dysautonomia ( mine us a rare genetic tachycardia issue like POTS) , CFS/CPS/CMS and a syndrome for every letter of the alphabet if I'm allowed Queasy for the letter Q.
Serraplus after some research is not one that I've considered using . Its active ingredient is Serrapeptase , derived from Silkworms, and used in Japanese medicine to reduce swelling.
Reasons I wouldn't try it yet are , it can have the effect of making our symptoms worse especially if you aren't tolerant or a hyper sensitive to ingredients .
It hasn't had much research done on it at all in comparison to other supplements. Any research that has been done is small and mixed , so there is no significant evidence that it works .
There are a lot of other products out there with more research and positive results .
The one big warning is that you shouldn't use it if you have problems with blood clotting or you take blood thinners , including aspirin , naproxen or garlic as it can make blood thinner and wound healing slower .
Are you looking for a natural supplement to reduce inflammation or swelling?
A full vitamin and mineral supplement taken just after your fattiest meal is the best base. Extra Vitamin B12 taken with food but no Vitamin C next. An additional supplement of Vitamin D , Vitamin C and Magnesium with a fatty snack. These help nerve related pain and conditions related to Fibromyalgia, as our central pain problem is from the nerves not necessarily from swelling or inflammation.
Increasing water intake to the recommended daily level even if you don't feel thirsty is vital to reduce pain and swelling as internal dehydration and vitamin deficiency are the most common causes for worse symptoms.
Omega 3 is also vital to reduce inflammation but have it pure and keep well away from Omega 6 or Omega products with 6 in it , that actually causes increased inflammation according to research and patient experience and is not good for anyone with Arthritis or Joint inflammation .
Supplements like Turmeric I have found work. It helps to reduce the pain in my joints and my stomach pain and IBS.
Ginger in the diet and garlic capsules are are also effective in improving circulation , breathing and help to limit infections in winter. Many people have more consistent results with Mussel Extract or Glycosamine.
Reducing white carbs in the diet and restricting any processed sugar to just the odd treat now and then and stopping artificial sweeteners makes a huge difference to most chronic health conditions including fibro . Swings in blood sugar caused by these do have a big effect on pain , headaches and joint inflammation .
Just ensure you check that you can take any supplement with your current medications because many do interact with drugs and reduce how well they work. Mild side effects or things like itching with no rash , cramps or changes in bowel movements are common and not always a sign that you are allergic to a drug but that your body is finding it hard to get used to the new drug or supplement you are trying. Stop anything if you swell in hands or face , have palpitations or breathlessness on taking the drug these are signs of severe allergy.
If any side effects last or get worse for a week it's likely that you aren't allergic but intolerant which means it is worth stopping as it is just giving your body another thing to fight or heal from.
Most supplements take up to two months before you see or feel significant improvement , they don't work overnight , or in a week, and won't work unless you use them daily so you do need to give them a proper trial.
If you don't feel like there has been a change you can feel after a few months you try a two week break , if your symptoms get worse you know it was doing something if only very a small . If you feel no difference after the supplement break with any supplement you try its worth stopping as you are just spending money on something you don't need.
Magnesium sprays or lotions put on at night can help restless legs , circulation and peripheral nerve pain . Creams like Perratone can also ease joint pain .
Hiya - I tried two forms of just serrapeptase, the second was probably one of the 'best on the market' (Serretia in double the concentration of Serraplus+) and one of the most expensive in my collection. I tried various suggested doses, but it only helped a couple of times, so maybe placebo, altho I only had this effect with the enzymes serrapeptase and NADH. So I stopped it after 1 or 2 bottles - no difference.
Regarding the specific product you mentioned: The "Plus" is referring to "Trace Minerals" 50 mg, MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) 350 mg" - which is vague re. not particularly relevant to us. They claim that it is better for the serrapeptase, and I've found a reference to studies confirming that manganese and or zinc help, if that's what they mean by "trace minerals".... But I can't find a confirmation of MSM and I remember I tried to keep it away as much as possible from all other supps cos I think I'd read it's better to.
