I'd be asking for more information about the procedure and possible outcomes and risk/benefit analysis from your doctors before going ahead
Hi i had it done about 5 years ago, its an awful procedure because your awake when they do it, the pain was unreal. im sorry i ever had it done it made me worse. Also your nerves grow back. Good Luck
hi I had this procedure approx 2 n a half years ago, for the first 3 weeks the pain was quite bad, but I was told to expect that as the nerves take approx 3 weeks to die. Then after that I felt as if I’d been given my life back! I was so much more mobile and the pain I had been experiencing prior was gone. I was really thankful that I had this done as my quality of life was 100% improved and was able to come off some of the meds I had been taking. I do advise this procedure to others but warn them of the first few weeks, and advise them to rest and take pain relief.
The nerves do grow back, but after nearly 3 years the pain is not as bad as it was prior!
hi. kimthomas907
In May I had Facet Block injections to the spine which the Orthopaedic Surgeon said if they did not work he would try the ablition. Unfortunately 1 week after the FB it was painfully obvious it did not work. I had a follow up with him on 8th Sept but the pain management team advised me not to have the ablation as numerous clients had said it is a short lived procedure and the nerve would grow back. I am now living with the pain of bulging discs and take meds to survive the ongoing pain. I find compression clothing is the only thing that helps. Hope you can get sorted.
Hi i had a branch block procedure in nov 2019 i had magic cream and anaesthetic injections to numb the area to be blocked. I have fibro and spondylitis i advised them i have heightened pain levels. I felt everything whilst on the table. It was excruciating and didnt work. I was told i could have radio-frequency injections if it didnt work. But they went back on their words and said i would be better off with meds and physio as there was no point because i felt everything. I wish my family would understand but i get judged because i moan about my pain. So i suffer silently. its better because i get told it could be worse....
