I had my lidocaine infusion yesterday, I have everything crossed that it will work. The side effects at the minute are flu like symptoms, I'm told this should ease in a week. The infusion doesn't work straight away so I can only hope and pray that it does the job with the pain 🤞🙏

I was referred from my pain team for the lidocane infusion as duloxetine and nefopam was not working enough for me I attended the day procedure unit and was put onto a heart monitor, this was monitored the whole time during the transfusion as was my oxygen levels and blood pressure. The infusion took just over an hour. Its an anaesthetic that helps block the nerve receptors. It doesn't work for everyone but I'm willing to try anything. The first few days they make you aware that flu like symptoms may follow, which they have for me and I'm taking paracetamol to help with this. The infusion doesn't work straight away it takes a few days before you know. I should get a follow up appointment in 2 months. I have everything crossed and remain positive xx
