FIBROMYALGIA PLUS THE TOP TEN STRAINS TO TREAT IT

A new study, conducted by Dr. Mary-Ann Fitzcharles from the Montreal General Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre in Montreal, Canada, examined the relationship between medical marijuana and the alleviation of fibromyalgia symptoms.

“According to the study, approximately 10% of patients suffering from fibromyalgia use medical marijuana to ease their symptoms. Other studies show that Medical Marijuana may be more effective at treating the disease than traditional prescription drugs.

Along with her colleagues, Fitzcharles surveyed 302 patients with fibromyalgia and 155 patients who suffered from other forms of chronic pain. Of those who participated, 13% were given cannabinoids to treat their symptoms and 80% were given marijuana.

72% of the patients who used marijuana reported using one gram or less per day to alleviate their symptoms.

With almost 3/4th of patients reported using one gram or less a day and with prescription drug costs rising, it’s no wonder these companies dislike this plant.

The list of strains below have well documented beneficial effects for treating the symptoms of fibromyalgia.

2. Dieseltonic – Cross of NYC Diesel/Cannatonic.

3. Z7 – Cross of Sensi-star/Cannatonic.

I have a dear friend that uses cbd oil for her fibromayalga. She stated that it 95% helps her. I am an ambassador for cbd comp and i recommend that you do your du diligence regarding cbd ,ie how it works in the body. And make sure the company is reputable and that the oul has a high percentage of cbd without THC. 😇

They wont help if they don't contain a high percentage of cbd. Look at kannaway cbd oil, and ECHO to do your research. Always make sure you see that it has a Laboratory Certificate too.

Well you have to see a doctor get approved for what they allow medical marijuana for in each State. Then after medical proof they send this in the states health department which then approves you and sends you a medical marijuana card which you can start to go to a medical marijuana dispensary in your state if legal. They have professionals to answer any questions and get you started out on what you need. It is not off the streets. It's all medical grade. You can only get it you have a medical card. It does wonders for people without the bad side effects of pharmaceutical drugs it's been proven or they never would of legalized it for health reasons in the first place. They come with CBD in the THC stains also , it depends on what you try that helps.

In th UK we do not have that facility although there is some movement. Having the ability to choose to try this option and it being socially and legally acceptable is a long way removed from it being at the level of being prescriptible / available on the NHS.

Conversation is complex and the personal responsibility, social and legal aspects are frequently discussed without regard to how they interplay with clinical practice and their ethics.

She said later in 2014 ""At this time, we cannot recommend herbal cannabis for arthritis pain management given the lack of efficacy data, potential harm from the drug, and availability of other therapies for managing pain," concludes Dr. Fitzcharles. "Physicians should discourage rheumatology patients from using medical marijuana as a therapy.""

The situation with cannabis efficacy in chronic pain conditions is not clear cut and it needs gold standard research conducted to move the argument on.

What harm, from real people using. You do not have to smoke it, it comes in oils, edibles, sprays, vapes, creams. Harm to lungs only if you smoke it daily. But so many other ways to take it without inhaling it. I know money pharmaceutical drugs is big big and when people start trying Medical marijuana and realizing no side effects like withdraws of any like man made drugs do. You feel like your on your death bed coming off them, that tells me for myself stay of them if doing that because it shows your addicted to them like Cocaine or Meth Etc. do to you. Aweful pure hell I lived weaning off medication for fibromyalgia, depression, insomnia, anxiety. Never have I from marijuana never or heard anyone I know has ever. We talking many years of use not a couple of years for many of them and it control their pains etc. But of course check with your doctor first and make sure they telling you the truth about it also. Please research. Talk to people who doctors have others on it and the out comes. Marijuana is not man made like pharmaceutical drugs it's a weed that grows wild around the world and stuff today are planted and grown.

Big Pharma for all the blame they get ... if there is profit in it then they will be there and it is the biggest cash business in the US so there is money to be made so them limiting the market is perverse to me as an argument and it just needs research.

As to what harm it is about knowing what that harm may be and what the NNT numbers would be, the contraindications and all the other things that duloxetine or any other medications are required to go through.

Known harms are psychosis, or synapse growth effects especially in juveniles i.e. pre 22. Or as per the article I referenced which is by the same professor that yours was from:

"The study authors highlight that use of medical marijuana comes with inherent risks such as compromised cognitive and psychomotor function. Long-term use of cannabis may lead to mental illness, dependence, addiction and memory issues. In fact, a prior U.S. study of 8,000 adults who used cannabis in the previous year found that the odds of depression were 1.4 times higher in cannabis users compared to non-users."

If it was as simple as give everyone a joint, some pizza and we would all be sorted then it would be done by now but it is much more complicated. Making large scale health recommendations requires slow, plodding and considered movements whereas the individual can decide on a whim to try something and find it benefits them. They are not the same conversation.

in reply to desquinn

You know it's not like that, give everyone a joint and pizza. Get real. It goes by doses just like pharmaceutical drugs would. Yes guideline. How much, how many times a day etc. Wow so much good advice to research people out there on this and well worth trying I say. You can not get for every illness out there wrong. You have to have by proof of doctor that you have one that is listed or otherwise your out of luck. So ya not like everyone can be on medical marijuana. I believe it's legal in UK but still hard to get it there yet. That will change one day maybe. One day it will be legal in all states.

My pizza comment was intentionally flippant so no need to "get real."

Talking about dosages, it is farcical to think that cannabis has endured the same research rigour as something like duloxetine. I am not saying it does or does not work for some but for health professionals to prescribe then it needs to stand up in the same way that modern medications are tested.

I go back to your original source and author making a contradictory and more conservative statement only a couple of years later.

If it was legal like it is in Oregon for example I would maybe try it personally and maybe try some of Jim Belushi's and see if it would help me. But that would stop me working in so many potential jobs from federal to many others. As an individual making an informed choice that would be up to me but as I have said before there is a big leap from that to prescribing it like a pharma drug would be and we are not there yet.

Simple answers to complex problems almost always result in being simply wrong.

in reply to desquinn

Sorry about the pizza thing. But yes I understand you there. Your doctor only give you the recommendation to be sent off to health department to check. They send a card. They have marijuana doctors no lie that help you get what's you would need for what you suffer with. They have in pill forms so that you would take the lowest THC one they have and wrong from there like antidepressants do and pain pills muscle relaxers they start at the lowest and build you up as you need just like marijuana pills. like everything you take or eat today to take a chance. For jobs I think that stinks because if your honest with them and you will be able to do your job even better your more focused on certain stains. They should not have a problem. Many years away but one day it will be legal to work while on medical marijuana with proof. One day my friend yes it will I believe it and hope anyway. Well I hope one day you visit somewhere where it's legal and you know they have a medical card just so you can try it. 😁

I have used it, it is illegal were I live, however I did get to try it. The results with me were -reduced awareness of pain, reduced restless leg and other areas symptoms and better sleep. I would rather have not had it because I now know how it can improve things for me.

in reply to Makie-Uppie

Thank you Makie-Uppie, yes it does help big time. I hope they pass it in every state one day soon so others can try.
