I have been on Pregabalin for 6 weeks and just on on the first increment that you feel it working 75mg am/pm .I feel so much better .

A few aches now and again , still can take the dose up if I need to but comfortable on this dose at the moment. No side effects apart from weight gain on the first few weeks and now the weight gain in 6 weeks has gone back to normal.

I hsve no headaches, dizzyness at all .

A few aches in arms and legs .This has made my life so much better .I am being phased back into my full time Sales job in a few weeks time. Fingers crossed I am able to continue .

So pleased for you. It really helped me. I have stayed on the low dose as unfortunately if I go higher I have a muzzy head so feel I can't drive. It has certainly taken that very top edge off the pain. Before taking it I could barely move as there pain was so intense. I havent gained weight as it has actually enabled me to exercise more.x

You might find you are fine. I tend to be very sensitive to many meds eg my body doesn't seem to tolerate any type of antidepressant and I had to try 4 different statins before the GP found one I could tolerate and the rest was at the lowest level. My Gp increased my Pregablin extremely slowly in increments of 25mg so perhaps you could try that to see what you can tolerate and works bar for too. Good luck

I have been on pregabalin for about 3 months I take 200mg in total spread over the day. It helps me alot with the tingling and itchiness crawling sensations. Still struggling to manage my pain tho whenever I'm the slightest bit active. Really notice the difference when I forget a few doses so I've now set up medication reminders. Really happy it's helping you and I hope it long continues.

This is brilliant news, I started on a low dose but needed to go up to 100mgs, I agree it does lessen the pain but just going through six weeks of a fibro episode, there are some good days. You are doing so well and going back to work full time is a real milestone. Congratulations

Hi Wonderful news, I am Very pleased for you. The only medication I take is Pregabalin.

Had fibromyalgia diagnosed in 2006 and major spinal surgery in 2007. Had a lot of neuropathic pain in legs and feet following surgery and had the dosage upped to maximum by the Consultant at the Pain Clinic.

Pregabalin has made my life liveable! I have a fairly normal life and was able to work full time again.

No side effects and no weight gain attributed to the medication.

However I do feel that it is addictive.

I have learned to pace myself, as fibromyalgia imposes limits on how much we do before being clobbered. Still feel very tired at the end of the day and have no trouble falling asleep.

Still get the odd day when every bone and muscle aches and have an overpowering need to rest so just have to go with the flow.

All in all I have found Pregabalin to be a Godsend.

Long May your life be pain free.

Congratulations

I’ve been on Pregabalin for a few years now. I started on 50mg twice a day but found that just taking 50mg at bed time was sufficient. I now take 100mg or 200mg about an hour before bed, it helps me sleep and relatively symptom free for the next 24 hrs. I did try coming off them about a year ago but after about 5 days was in so much pain!! This medication is a god send and had almost allowed me to forget a there is anything wrong with me 😁

It was the same for me. It did wonders for a year until it stopped working. I had a break for 9 months and went back on it. Again it helped me a lot until it stopped.I'm off it now but will try it again this year.

Seems like my body gets used to it and it stops working. To this day it's the only drug that has helped me with my fibromyalgia. Nothing else touches the pain.

Glad to hear it's working for you, I been taking it 6yrs and now take 100mg twice daily, but still get flare ups onset by overdoing it, all about pacing oneself and regular rest to keep it minimal.

Whoooo! I'd heard of pregabalin but wouldn't have had a clue what it was for. Yesterday, my new GP said he was prescribing it for me for peripheral neuropathy and it might help my overactive bladder as well - two birds with one stone. I think he missed that I also have FM, so it might even be three birds! I am so pleased to read the positive posts about it here, and hope that it doesn't have the same effect as amitriptyline. Am waiting for the prescription to arrive. Fingers crossed. Thank you to all you people on here that are experienced pregabalinists.

While adjusting to it it made me more tired but soon settled and definitely works well for me.

I get days when I'm more tired and nights when I can't get off to sleep; I'm on 200 ml a day now and have been thinking to increase but I just think I need to get more regular bed-times. Life can be a bit chaotic.

Pregabalin was only medication that helped me but after increase the in dose it caused psychotic episode (rare side effect) so I was taken off it. Take co-codamol now but not that effective. Glad it’s helping people.

Not sure pregabalin is good for me all it’s done is make me put on weight . Been on it going on 3 years now for my chronic back pain . I had some hallucinations with it , so slightly concerned it’s not the drug for me . Glad it works for you all tho

Scary! I just received my first pack of pregabalin and on reading the leaflet that came with it, I seem to be suffering many of the side effects without even taking it! I'm quite scared. Today I'm feeling very dopey and by the time the post arrived it was really too late to take the first 25 mg dose, so I plan to take it before bed. I have to be able to drive where I live and am worried it's going to make me less effective in my life than I am already. I'm supposed to increase the dose every two days up to a maximum of 300 mg per dose. I was on amitryptyline and that turned me into a zombie.
