Big toe

Evening . Just need some advice please if any one can help . I was diagnosed with fibro over a month ago . Iv had pain in my feet and ankles ,but Over a couple of days Iv had terrible pain in my big toe and underneath my foot it’s sore to touch and painful to walk . If this common with fibro or could it be down to something else .

Sorry to say, I have similar numb feet,toe pain, joint pain. Etc All fibro related unfortunately .

I have high blood pressure and cataracts post diagnosis with fibro and a sore right tibia. None of these are to do with fibro and its important to consider critically whether things are fibro related mine are not fibro related in any way.

It is very possible (chances increase with age) to have other aches and pains and other things as well as fibro. Do not put everything down to it. Fibro accentuates existing pain and is the "nerves" (or brain) being over sensitive. This means we can get extra pain in places but it is not those places feeling acute pain but our fibro referring or causing that pain and not the muscle or the joint. If you have extra pain in a location or swelling then get it checked it out.

in my conditions above the tibia is the most likely to be fibro related and the missing the small wall that was in front of me before I tripped over it may have been fibro cognitive issues or my cataracts which is more likely or the fact that I was looking at my phone!!!!!

Do not put everything down to fibro even if your doctor does,.

Hi there, I have big toe arthritis and other osteoarthritic problems with my feet. I don't know if this is common in people with Fibromyalgia but I also have osteoarthritis in lots of areas.

High there, not known to be a fibro related problem as far has I'm aware.

1) if its in the big toe it could be gout.

2) if its under the foot it could be plantar fashiitis. Not sure about the spelling!

No one here is medically qualified. So I would urge you to speak with your GP.

May I ask a question if you dont mind. If you had not been diagnosed with fibro or never heard of fibro. What would you think the problem with your foot maybe and what would you do about it?

I ask because many people often put everything down to fibro. That could be a dangerous thing to do. Not everything is fibro related. The scarey thing for me even some GPs are quick to put things too quickly down to fibro IMO.

Sometimes again IMO it can be a blessing to get the fibro diagnoses other times not so much xx

Hi, the pain in your big toe may be gout. I've had gout in my big toe, it was swollen and warm to the touch. It also could be other things and not related to Fibro at all. Please speak to your GP about it.

AS Desquinn says, Not everything is Fibro.

As we age things start to not work as well as they used to, and it is easy for a doctor to miss these signs and put it all down to Fibro.

I have back problems (nursing), a dying knee (Slipped on ice and twisted it), a hip which has been uncomfortable since I was 11, cataracts (operated on), hernia (a failure of internal stitching after Gall bladder surgery) and Oesophageal Reflux (the only thing to have been diagnosed since Fibro).

I think I may also have Raynauds, but I haven't consulted the GP about it. Oh, and I'm 73!

Hi Sorry to hear your in pain I get pain in my feet and ankles I have tendonitis in both ankles some days it’s bad I can’t walk I did see a podiatrist and they made orthotic insoles it did help for a while but still flares up my daughter has fibromyalgia she suffers with tennis elbow her physio and my physio said having fibromyalgia it can take for us longer to heal.

I think is you should speak to your doctor about getting physio.

Hi, I would agree that it would be wise not to assume that all pain elements are due to Fibro. I have similar pain to yours - Big Toe, base of foot , ankle and sensations up leg. However an ultrasound revealed a tendinopathy in the foot and an x-ray significant degenerative changes to the joint at base of toe. All attached - so worth pursuing as a specific problem

Hello,it would be best to run this by your doctor to be sure , as desquinn says not all fibro related but many members do say they experience pain and soreness in many parts of their bodies, take care .
